"...This life is made up of little things-little things that count a great deal. I believe that the little things are of great importance in our relationship with ourselves, in our relationship with others, and in our relationship with God." - Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin

I'm just your typical girl who loves to lay around in sweats, a messy bun and spend quality time with those she loves. I've learned that it's the little things in life that makes it so beautiful. Even when life gets hard, little things like a smile or a simple "I love you" can make all the difference. I truly believe in this. Never think that your life doesn't matter - it does. It matters for eternity. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And I am a Christian.
I'm a Mormon.

Just The Typical New Years Resolutions...

1. Lose 7 pounds
- I know, not really that necessary but I want to get back to how I was all throughout high school which was 123. I weigh 130 now so I can do it...easily!
2. Say my morning prayers
- I have THE hardest time doing this. Saying my prayer at nights are super easy but I can never do them in the morning. I know, simple, just "roll out of bed and fall on your knees" but it doesn't help if you oversleep and then you end up flying off your bed hurrying to get ready. Still, no excuse. Need to do it.
3. Study the scriptures 10 minutes a day.
- Okay, so I do read my scriptures every night but for the past year, it's been just reading a random verse and then going to sleep. Not good. If I tell myself 10 minutes a night, then I will actually study the scriptures and learn. I shouldn't be rushing through them anyways.
4. No homework on Sunday
- I was able to accomplish this goal maybe 3 times during Fall semester and I really noticed a difference in my Sunday. Sunday is suppose to be a day of rest, not the day to cram everything together last minute for the next school day.
5. Start a personal journal, again
- I'm bad at personal journals. I can say I'm amazing at keeping journals of notes that contains information from Sacrament meeting, Sunday school, Relief Society, Devotionals, etc but a personal journal...yeah, no. I've been thinking a lot since I started college on how I need to be recording my life down in a journal for my future generations to read. In a way, they are all going to be members because of me soooo I'm hoping they'll want to know who I am?
6. Do more saving then spending!
- This semester off is the perfect opportunity to accomplish this goal. I'm usually really good at saving my money but sometimes I will splurge.
7. Get Richie to go on a mission because I KNOW he can do it!
- It's funny how people say that it's me that will bring my family back to the church when really, I think it's Richie. My parents are assuming I'm going to go on a mission as much as they've been trying to get me to not go on one lately. But Richie, they figure won't go and I want him to prove them wrong. I KNOW that he has a testimony of this church and that he KNOWS that it is true. My parents are trying to get him think other wise whether they realize it or not. He needs to follow his heart and not what my parents say because they are wrong.
8. Encourage mommy to work out!
- My mom needs me. She has been struggling with body weight (and so have I and everyone else in the world) and she really needs a lot of encouragement on going to the gym. Part of the reason why I got a gym membership for Christmas was so I can be my mommy's gym buddy and work out with her! I want to see her accomplish her goal!
9. Help answer my parents questions about the church
- I know without a doubt that I can find the answer to every single question they have about the church. I know I can find it easily! But, they need to be willing to listen and be taught by the spirit. My parents have changed and honestly been more snippy lately with the church and it's sad to see the happiness and the light not there in them anymore. But, if I can prayerfully find those answers...they won't be able to deny it. They won't.
10. Build stronger relationships with my parents
- Don't get me wrong, I LOVE MY PARENTS! But...I wouldn't consider them my best friends. They've been great parents but there are plenty of things that they've done that I don't agree with and add to my list of things that "I won't do when I become a parent". But, I need to just get all that negativity out of my mind and work on being friends with them; real friends with them. I love them so much and I want them to be happy. I want to have a great relationship with my parents; just like the relationships my friends have with their parents. I guess I need to respect my parents more. Let me rephrase that. I NEED to respect my parents more because they ARE my parents.

It's interesting how a lot of my goals are church related. I feel like that is a good thing. This is going to be one hard year with being home this semester and going to church alone (literally) to deciding whether or not to go on a mission to deciding whether to be an EFY counselor during the 7 week break, etc. I need to rely on my Heavenly Father a lot this year and include him in every decision I make. Man, not really looking forward to this year to be quite frank.
