Ever since I was in high school I have always talked to the missionaries, serving in my home ward, on the phone. I think they had special permission to talk to me since I was an investigator and I would always call with questions. The three missionaries I would always talk to on the phone were Elder Jorgenson, Elder Elias, and Elder Johnson. Elder Johnson (Erik, goes to BYU-Idaho and is my big bro!) and I would always talk about random stuff on the phone whenever I was done with my questions. I remember when we went out to lunch last year when I visited Rexburg for my birthday and he told me of this one conversation we had and he literally remembered it word by word! It was really special. I haven't talked to any missionaries on the phone since then because I was never close to any of the other ones after them.
But, I just talked to this one missionary in my home ward for the second time today and haha I think he gets nervous every time I talk to him! I called him first to get their address so my brother could pick them up to take them grocery shopping and then today. He called because he wanted to know if my parents wanted to go to this dinner thing and that was really it. But, when I answered the phone I excitedly said, "hey!" and he was completely caught off guard asking if I knew who was calling haha! I told him I had their number saved on my phone and he said how that was one of the first times someone was excited to talk to the elders on the phone haha. He then started to stumble his words again and I just laughed at him - my bad. I just think it's funny because I would assume it's a big deal to not only talk to a girl on the phone while you're on your mission but a girl that is practically your age. I mentioned in the conversation how I wanted to serve a mission and his response was, "Wait, really???". Why he was so surprised??...who knows. But, I told him how if I'm not in a relationship during fall semester....which he then interrupted me and did a sort of, shy chuckle...I then continued and said how I would then start and turn in my papers.
The conversation ended shortly after that but the story I want to share is how funny it is for missionaries to be super good on their mission and not flirt with girls. I personally think that would be so hard to do but they are so obedient and so focus on their mission that it comes easy to most of them. I'm so grateful for the missionaries in my home ward. Although I don't know that on a personal level like I did with Jorgenson, Elias, and Johnson...but I know that they are probably just as amazing. Note to self - if you laugh on the phone with a missionary, they will start laughing and most likely get nervous and shy.
♥ The Girl Who Admits To Flirting With The Missionaries Before

"...This life is made up of little things-little things that count a great deal. I believe that the little things are of great importance in our relationship with ourselves, in our relationship with others, and in our relationship with God." - Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin

- I'm just your typical girl who loves to lay around in sweats, a messy bun and spend quality time with those she loves. I've learned that it's the little things in life that makes it so beautiful. Even when life gets hard, little things like a smile or a simple "I love you" can make all the difference. I truly believe in this. Never think that your life doesn't matter - it does. It matters for eternity. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And I am a Christian.
