"...This life is made up of little things-little things that count a great deal. I believe that the little things are of great importance in our relationship with ourselves, in our relationship with others, and in our relationship with God." - Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin

I'm just your typical girl who loves to lay around in sweats, a messy bun and spend quality time with those she loves. I've learned that it's the little things in life that makes it so beautiful. Even when life gets hard, little things like a smile or a simple "I love you" can make all the difference. I truly believe in this. Never think that your life doesn't matter - it does. It matters for eternity. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And I am a Christian.
I'm a Mormon.

Angels.

I truly feel like some of my friends are angels sent from Heavenly Father. Each of my close friends have made a huge impact in my life. I got to talk to one of my really good friends, Alex Theobald, for a little over an hour today. I've had a lot of things on my mind lately and his name popped into my mind of someone I needed to talk to. So, I texted him asking if he was free to talk and about 20 minutes later he called and we started our conversation.

First off, let me describe Alex to you. Alex is a one of a kind guy. His spirit is so strong and he is such a unique individual. He truly puts others before him and willingly serves those around him. I've known him since I was...probably a sophomore in high school but we became really good friends my junior year. He graduated a year before me and his sister and I were really good friends in high school. I had always wrote in my journal how I wanted my first date to be with a Mormon guy. When I turned 16, he found out I was 16 and that I had never been on a date so he decided to take me on my first one! It was so much fun. We went to dinner, watched a movie, and then talked. Alex really taught me what a guy needs to do on a date. You know, open the door for you and that kind of stuff. My junior year I was struggling on whether I wanted to join the church then or wait till after my senior year. He really encouraged me and gave me positive reassurance that getting baptized would be the best decision for me to make at that particular time of my life. He was right; along with a lot of other people. He spoke at my baptism and since then has been a very loyal friend to me. We've gone on a few dates together but strictly just as friends. It's funny, every time we've gone on a date we ALWAYS end up talking about the girl/guy we have a crush on hahaha. When he got back from his mission, I told his sister Joy that I wanted to be Alex's first date home from the mission since he was my first date when I was 16. We ended up going on a date and let me just say that hahaha poor guy he was totally in missionary mode still ;) haha! It was fun though. I love it when guys talk about their missions so I enjoyed it. We got Togo's and then went to the park and walked around for over an hour! It was so much fun to catch up on each others lives.

Now, back to the story. Alex and I talked about a lot of things tonight. We talked about school, dating life, spiritual matters, more school, and more spiritual stuff. I told him everything that has been going on in my life {{including some of the bad}} because I really wanted to receive good advice from him and I felt like that wouldn't of happened if I didn't tell him everything. I didn't give him all the details to everything but he got the gist on what was going on in my life. I know there was a reason why he came to mind to call. He gave me such great advice...I even jotted some of it down in my journal! He shared this quote to me by Ezra Taft Benson, "When we put God first, all other things fall into their proper place or drop out of our lives." I needed to hear that.

This semester has been really hard for me and I couldn't of done it without my friends. Whether it's crying to Abby in our room to talking to Alex on the phone to going on car rides with Mark to getting a blessing of comfort from Kyle. There is a reason why I know the people I know and I'm so grateful to know that Heavenly Father is always looking out for my best interest.
