"...This life is made up of little things-little things that count a great deal. I believe that the little things are of great importance in our relationship with ourselves, in our relationship with others, and in our relationship with God." - Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin

I'm just your typical girl who loves to lay around in sweats, a messy bun and spend quality time with those she loves. I've learned that it's the little things in life that makes it so beautiful. Even when life gets hard, little things like a smile or a simple "I love you" can make all the difference. I truly believe in this. Never think that your life doesn't matter - it does. It matters for eternity. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And I am a Christian.
I'm a Mormon.

Don't Mess With Family.

Today my family and I went to Gay Nineties for dinner to enjoy some delicious pizza. I decided not to go to the temple again and to just chill with them for the night. While we were eating, my mom brought up an incident that happened at Macy's with my two brothers. I didn't know what she was talking about and frankly, I was the only one who hadn't heard the story yet. Apparently, my brothers went to Macy's this week to do some back to school shopping. They go to the cash register to purchase their items and the lady working at the register makes small talk to them. She asks them if it was all for school and my youngest brother, Chris, replied and told her that it was and that Richie is in college and he's in high school. She then asks {{by the way, she's in her forties or something}} where Richie goes to school and he replies BYU. She asks if their Mormon and Chris says that he isn't and that Richie is. She then says, "Ohhh...so you go to Breed-them young university" {{instead of just saying Brigham Young University}}. Richie I guess just kind of laughed it off but she insisted to continue with her jokes. She then proceeds to ask if he is going to have multiple wives. I don't know what other "jokes" she made but they both came home and told my parents what happened. They all thought it was funny...besides my dad. He was mad. It took him two days to finally realize that Richie was a little bothered by it and so he decided to make a phone call to this lady.

By looking at the receipt, he figures out her number and calls her. She answers the phone and he makes small talk to make sure she was the right person. She was. He then has a conversation with her that went a little like this...

Daddy: Okay, I was wondering if you can please write down this phone number {{gives her Richie's cell number}}
Lady: Okay! {{she repeats it back to make sure she got it}}
Daddy: So, what your going to do now is call my son and have your sorry a** appologize to him
Lady: I'm sorry....what?
Daddy: My sons came in this week and you were at the register. You made some not so nice jokes to my sons about their religion. Now, you can either call within the next hour or so and apologize or, I can call your boss, probably get you fired, and then get some money out of it. The choice is yours. I'm out walking the dogs right now and won't be back for an hour or so but if I come home and my son hasn't received a phone call from you, I'm calling your boss.
Lady: {{complete silence}}
Daddy: So you can choose what you want to do. Have a nice day.

I was pretty shocked. My daddy then explains to me that he doesn't hate the church {{as my little brother is repeating after him, "yes he does! he would always say how much he did when you were at school!" hahaha}} but he can't believe in two different things. He can't believe in some parts of the Mormon church and more so of just the mainstream Christianity. My daddy will stick up for his kids. Even if they believe in something he doesn't think is true anymore...he will not let us take crap for it. I guess it made me feel a lot better with just everything that has been going on these past few days. They don't know about my meltdown so it was nice to know that my daddy was being sincere in everything he was saying. If I choose to serve a mission, and someone starts to talk crap about how I'm serving a mission and makes jokes about...my daddy will kick their trash haha! He may not go about it the right way...but at least I feel confident in knowing he'll have my back :)
