"...This life is made up of little things-little things that count a great deal. I believe that the little things are of great importance in our relationship with ourselves, in our relationship with others, and in our relationship with God." - Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin

I'm just your typical girl who loves to lay around in sweats, a messy bun and spend quality time with those she loves. I've learned that it's the little things in life that makes it so beautiful. Even when life gets hard, little things like a smile or a simple "I love you" can make all the difference. I truly believe in this. Never think that your life doesn't matter - it does. It matters for eternity. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And I am a Christian.
I'm a Mormon.

missionary for a day? kind of.

This morning started off so good!! Why?? Because I got to hang out with the sister missionaries :) They got permission for me to do companion study with them and also go to district meeting. Yeah! So fun! It honestly calmed my nerves down a little bit and I was able to get a mere glimpse of what "mission life" really is. I got to participate a lot and the sisters showed me some cute visual aids they use in their lessons and told me to start making mine now, especially because i have the time! Genius.

I was in the singing mood today and thought heck, why not do some recordings on GarageBand of me singing some hymns?? Done! I did Love At Home and Nearer My God To Thee...buttttt love at home was my favorite haha. it actually took me forever to get a catchy soprano part to harmonize the melody to but with lots of water breaks and cut and pastes...it all finally came together. Doesn't sound amazing or anything but, it was fun and that's all that matters, right? I would love to one day get a group of girls and do an acapella church group. Sing strictly hymns. Seriously...that would be the best job EVER! Maybe one day?

Tonight, Chrissy and I volunteered to feed the Elders in Singles Ward and Braden came along for the fun! ;) My parents were super nice and decided to pay for the Elders meals and gave us left over gift cards to Rigatoni's. Yummmmmy! It was fun to see them loosen up just a little bit and have fun around us. Don't worry, they were still their serious selves! They gave us a spiritual thought afterward and it was about being a member missionary...which ties in PERFECTLY with what happened tonight!

So, I really didn't want to go hot tubing because I was tired and I feel chubbs {{tom is coming to visit in 4 days}} and yeah, just didn't want to go. So I threw Chrissy under the bus saying how she has "work" in the morning and she can't go so I don't have to go...well...she ended up wanting to go haha so then I just sucked it up and went. And my gosh I had a BLAST! I was talking to Alex Wassom for a bit when I then decided to turn to this guy right next to me and say hi to him. I had noticed that for the oh, 35 minutes I was already there that he was just sitting there quietly and no one was talking to him. Thinking he was in our singles ward and was new, I said hi and we exchanged names. He quickly told me that he was just here by himself and wasn't with our group.... :) MISSIONARY OPPORTUNITY! Haha I mean come on, the dude is in a hot tub with 7 or 8 Mormon's...what do you expect ;) I don't know how it came up but he eventually told us that his friend did a mission thing as well and went to South Africa. It was at that moment that everything started to play out. He knew we were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we don't drink, we go hot tubing every Wednesday night, bowling every Tuesday night, and will soon start rock climbing every Thursday night {{assuming??}}. He knew I was going on a mission and that we all like to do fun group activities. It wasn't until I got out of the hot tub when he asked the question..."so, what's the difference between your church and all of the other christian and catholic churches?" YES!!!!! I was so bummed that I had just gotten out but, with Alex, Braden, Andy, Ben and the rest of the people who were still there...I knew our friend was in good hands :) I'm really happy I turned to talk to him and that Alex had already introduced himself to him a little before I got there. It was just a really neat opportunity and I hope he continues to come every Wednesday night with us hot tubing! Better yet, I hope to see him at church with all of us on Sunday! Regardless of the outcome, it was a really cool experience.

Bahhhhh today was just such a good day. Got to have lunch with my daddy as well and spend some time with him. I got to play my flute for a little bit {{forget that it has a leak and needs to be fixed!!}} and got to relax. Plus, the weather was again, BEAUTIFUL in California. I seriously love home life right now...I couldn't ask for more. Now, time for this little girl to get some shut eye so she can baby-sit little Grace again and then be ready to go to the temple tomorrow night as a ward!
