"...This life is made up of little things-little things that count a great deal. I believe that the little things are of great importance in our relationship with ourselves, in our relationship with others, and in our relationship with God." - Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin

I'm just your typical girl who loves to lay around in sweats, a messy bun and spend quality time with those she loves. I've learned that it's the little things in life that makes it so beautiful. Even when life gets hard, little things like a smile or a simple "I love you" can make all the difference. I truly believe in this. Never think that your life doesn't matter - it does. It matters for eternity. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And I am a Christian.

Valentine's Day

People either hate or love Valentine's Day. I say I "hate" it but..I don't. I obviously would prefer to enjoy it with a boy but, you can't always get what you want. Saturday night I went out to dinner with my best friend Katie Hume (aka KITTY)! We went to Chilies and watched the Valentine's Day movie that just came out. I actually liked it-wasn't amazing but good. Spending my Valentine's day with her (since it was on a Sunday this year..) was soooo much fun! She has been going through some rough patches and it was nice to just chat with her and spend time with her. We have been best friends since 4th grade! I used to be friends with this other group of girls (the "popular" girls per say) and they were being really mean to this girl one day and I didn't want to be like them, HA! So, I told them I was out (like I signed myself away or anything to them?) and went to the playground. When I got there, I found Katie playing on the monkey bars and asked her if we could be friends and she said yes. Since then, we've been best friends! Haha :) There came a point in High School where she decided to be friends with these others girl who I knew weren't the type of people to be friends with. Our interests also changed and she started dating a guy as well. So, after middle of sophomore year, we just stopped hanging out on a regular basis. Even though people always thought we weren't friends anymore, we just established a different kind of friendship instead. We knew that with our differences that it would be hard to always be together. I don't know how we did it, but this is how we tell people what our friendship really is...
We are the type of best friends that don't have to hang out 24/7, call each other everyday, etc. When we don't see each other for a while, it's not that we don't want to be with the other person, we just don't have time. But, when we do find the time to hang out, it seriously feels like we just saw each other the day before.
I love her so much for that friendship! This is our 9th year of being best friends and I couldn't ask for a better girl to be my best friend :) We still have differences in our lives and in the things we do but, that doesn't stop us from loving each other. She will forever be my valentine ;)

Overall I had a really good Valentine's Day. I didn't need a boy in order to enjoy it; I simply had a wonderful day at church. We had Stake Conference this morning and it was much needed. A lot of the talks I felt were directed to me and definitely helped me out with some things I've been struggling on... When I got home from church, I was able to relax in my room and I wrote a letter to Elder Mitchell! He is one of the guys I mentioned in my post a couple of days ago (Topher in Argentina). I think he'll like the letter :) It's a pretty letter too! I made some errors so there are some scribbles but lol it's still pretty! I wrote some things that would make him laugh..but hopefully the mission hasn't COMPLETELY made him mature that he won't laugh at what I say. I'm planning on sending him this picture of Patrick and Spongebob...HOW CAN YOU NOT LAUGH AT THAT! But, his emails are sooo funny so...I think he still has his sense of humor ;) I just love how he is so immature. It seriously makes me smile! I mean...don't get me wrong, he is a mature young man but...he has his moments :) My mommy and I then went to the Why I Believe Fireside at the Oakland Temple. It was sooo good! Seriously, every time I go to one of those, I want to be a missionary! But...who knows. It's whatever the Lord wants me to do!

Real charity is not something you give away; it's something that you apply to your life
