SO. I've been stressing out on deciding where I wanted to live for the next two semesters. My first semester I was in the dorms which was sooo much fun due to the fact that we didn't know what else was out there haha! In all honesty though, the dorms was perfect for a first semester college student. Then, I lived at the Ridge for 2 semesters! I loved the Ridge! It actually felt like a real apartment and we got our own bedroom! The ward was great and the bishoprec (sp?) was AMAZING! But, this is their last semester they are all in the bishoprec (winter semester) and I feel like I already know everybody in the ward. I want to branch out and meet new people! I was a little hesitant on where to live. I was really leaning towards Tuscany because they have private bedrooms too but this girl who was in my ward both semesters at the Ridge, Abby, told me to live with her at Northgate!
Northgate are the newest girl apartments at BYUI. I heard that they were way more expensive then the Ridge but by doing the math...they are actually cheaper! However, the only downside is is that it IS a shared bedroom. But...when I was thinking about it, I kind of liked sharing a room with someone. It forced me to talk to my roommate haha! It's so easy for me to go to my own bedroom and chill by myself all day (ask my family). Having another roommate in my room was a way for me to socialize! This past semester for example, I was in my room ALL the time! It wasn't because I didn't want to hang out with my roommates but it was because I never got home til 10-11pm and I needed to do homework, shower, and sleep. I never got to bond with all of my roommates as much as I wish I did. So, this semester I am not going to get involved in everything I see haha! As much as I LOVE to get involved and to serve...I did wayyyyy too much in the Fall. Spring semester is the BEST semester at BYUI because of the weather and everyone is super chill! I want to enjoy it and have FUN!
So, Abby checked out Northgate and loved it!! I'm really excited about living there now :) I just filled out my application so hopefully I get contacted very quickly so I know I for sure have a spot. I'm so glad to be living with someone I know; that was one of the things I was also nervous about when finding a place to live. I don't really "know, know" Abby but what I DO know of her is how sweet, spiritual, gorgeous, fun, caring and awesome she is! She was in my Relief Society presidency my first semester at the Ridge. Whenever she spoke, you felt the spirit! I took down a lot of my notes from her in Relief Society whether it was her teaching a lesson or just simply sharing an insight. She always commented during my lessons which always made my lessons so much easier to teach haha! When the semester was over, she gave the teachers candy and a sweet little note which I still have to this day and hung up on my wall last semester! She's one of those girls you want to hate because she is so gorgeous but can't because she is SO sweet!! She really is the total package!! I can't wait to get to know her more and to live with her for the next two semesters! :)
Me: "Mckay, do you think Maggie is cute?"
Mckay: "Yes!"
Me: "Why?"
Mckay: "Because she doesn't chase me and follow me around everywhere."
What insights you can learn from a little 4 year old haha
