I was completely shut down by an 8 year old today! I was helping this girl in my home ward get ready for school this morning and then my job was to get her there on time. Getting ready was fun! She showed me her favorite stuffed animals, showed me how many crazy ways she can put her hair up, and she even let me do her hair this morning for school {{which I did a bomb job by the way}}! 8:25am rolls around and it is time to leave. We get in the car and start driving to school. 8:30am and I am walking with her to her number where they line up for class. We're making small talk but there are still giggles in the air from the both of us. 8:31am, we see her number. She jogs to the group of girls at her number and in that split second she changed into complete girl mode. I said "Bye sweetie! Have a good day at school!" and she slightly turns her face to me and does a side wave saying, "K. Bye!" I was no longer important to her haha! The group of girls were her new priority. I was a little bummed at first because I expected some big hug from her but then I couldn't help but laugh at the utter thought that I was just like that to my own mom when being dropped off at school. No kid wants to be seen with their parents, let alone some other adult when they are with their friends. I mean hellooo...soo not cool. I guess it was a little taste of what I'll be expecting when I become a parent one day. She is the most darling girl and said the funniest things today! I just wish I was as cool as her friends ;)

"...This life is made up of little things-little things that count a great deal. I believe that the little things are of great importance in our relationship with ourselves, in our relationship with others, and in our relationship with God." - Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin

- I'm just your typical girl who loves to lay around in sweats, a messy bun and spend quality time with those she loves. I've learned that it's the little things in life that makes it so beautiful. Even when life gets hard, little things like a smile or a simple "I love you" can make all the difference. I truly believe in this. Never think that your life doesn't matter - it does. It matters for eternity. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And I am a Christian.
