Today I gave my first talk in college. I was home alone yesterday for a bit and as I was about to fall asleep when all of a sudden the doorbell rings. At first I thought it was Eric so I went to answer it {{or I would of probably ignored it because I was so tired}}. I open the door and it was the bishopric! We started talking a little when before I knew...the bishop smoothly asked the question, "Would you like to give a talk in church tomorrow?". I of course said yes and was given the topic of Dress and Grooming/Entertainment. The ironic thing about my topic was first off, I shouldn't of even been home because I was going to play soccer but bailed out because I was tired. When I got home, I changed my clothes into something comfy and I almost put on my workout shorts and a tank top because I figured I was just going to sleep in my room {{NBD}}. If I had opened the door wearing short shorts and a tank top...I would of been so embarrassed! Thank goodness I changed my mind and put on some sweats and a tshirt haha!
This morning I decided to print my talk in case I woke up and felt like I needed to add anything else to my talk {{I didn't want to waste paper}}. It starts printing but only prints the last page...uhhhh no bueno. I start panicking because I slept in a little bit later just because I knew I didn't have to spend that much time getting ready in the morning since I didn't need to shower. The printer keeps telling me there is "no paper" but there was paper in there...I tried over and over again to try and get it to work but it wouldn't! I finally ended up just emailing the talk to myself and figured I would just print it at some building or just use someones iPhone to open it up. Yeah no. Olivia, iPhones don't pull up word documents. HELLO! I realized that during Sunday school so I walked out and called Ryan to see if he could email the talk to myself via email and thankfully he did. Eric then met me at my ward after the sacrament was passed and that was when I walked up to my seat where I would be ready to give my talk. So much stress was involved with this talk haha but I'm so grateful for the opportunity!
Tomorrow is my "last day of summer" before I start school. Crazy! I'm so stoked! I'm so prepared for whatever comes my way.
♥ The Girl Who Loves Her Heavenly Father

"...This life is made up of little things-little things that count a great deal. I believe that the little things are of great importance in our relationship with ourselves, in our relationship with others, and in our relationship with God." - Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin

- I'm just your typical girl who loves to lay around in sweats, a messy bun and spend quality time with those she loves. I've learned that it's the little things in life that makes it so beautiful. Even when life gets hard, little things like a smile or a simple "I love you" can make all the difference. I truly believe in this. Never think that your life doesn't matter - it does. It matters for eternity. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And I am a Christian.
