It was a little bittersweet since this is the last Christmas I'll have at home before my mission. Next year it'll be in LA! Stoked! But, I'll definitely miss the fam bam for sure. Well, we decided to change things up a bit and celebrated Christmas Eve by having dinner at my our favorite restaurant, Benihana's! Yup, there was none of mommy's cooking for dinner this time around! I'm thinking of making this a new Baeza family tradition? Let's just hope so. It was delish and totally hit the spot. It was definitely worth starving for!! -- For the record, whenever we eat there we make sure to eat nothing that entire day so we know we'll eat everything that's served to us and enjoy it haha. We also got a little anxious for Christmas this year soooo we might of opened our presents on Christmas Eve this year ;)
We started off today's Christmas morning by watching the Celtics vs. Knicks game. Obviously. I think the Celtics lost by 2 points? Buzzer shot? So bummed! But, none the less, it was a great way to start the morning. We then all went as a family to church. I love going to the Christmas program our ward does every year. Maybe they do it in every ward? I don't know to be honest haha but they tell the story of Christ as we take little breaks and sing the Christmas hymns in the book that correspond to the stories. LOVE IT. Maybe cause I love singing? Who knows. But I look forward to it every single year. The Baeza's plan was to sit in the back {{which we did}} and to leave the second the closing prayer was finished...more like we left 40 minutes later haha. We eventually made our way to Nana's house where we met up with the rest of the family. It was so good to see everyone again. It was there where we watched the Packer's game {{part of it}}, the Fakers Lakers game {{part of it}}, ate Nana's infamous homemade tamales, played make up with Myra, played our annual poker game, opened presents, and ate lots and lots of chocolate fondu!
My cousin Michael asked me a lot about my mission. Asked me if I'd be wearing a "thing around my head"...I think he was thinking a bonnet haha! He asked me if I was going to knock doors and if I was scared - uhh YEAH! So scared! He asked me what I would do if they slam the door on me haha. It was so cute! His dad is Mormon I think? I know his grandma on his dad's side is and she works at the Oakland temple and so he's been there before. I told him that the girls in the visitors center that give tours is exactly what I'll be doing majority of my time in LA. He was so excited! I told him I was going to turn 21 soon and he said, "so does that mean your going to drink?" I told him no and his response was, "never? like...never ever, ever??" :)
I also got to text MADZ a lot today! It was so fun to hear the things she said to me :) Made me SMILE! HUGE!! Bahhhh I just am so excited and anxious to see what life has for me after the mission ;) I'm just so grateful for all the friends I have in my life. I truly live a lucky life and I wouldn't trade it in the world for any trial I've had and for any trial that is to come. I'm so grateful for our Savior, Jesus Christ and for his birth. I love him so much! Now, time to sleep so mommy and I can do some shopping at 6am ;)
